Hidden River Cave - 02

As we hiked the cave, we saw a couple of domes caused by the collapse of limestone thousands of years ago. The cave was very poorly lit - not unusual - but the walkway/path was also poorly lit in many places. Without the guide's flashlight, we really couldn't see much of the cave detail for the majority of the tour. This is not a complaint, just an observation and an explanation of the lighting and color in some of the photos as that sole flashlight provided the majority of the light. In the first picture, you see one of the domes. This is essentially over our heads. The other two photos are of the suspension bridge - clearly the best lit section of the tour. That's our guide, a local college student, in the first photo talking a bit before we crossed. She did a nice job on the tour. In the second photo, the last group paused to look at these huge blind crawfish in the water below (my photo was no good). There was not any forced spacing as we were all (maybe 15 or so) on the bridge at the same time with no issue though movement/swing was noticeable. This group included a young German Sheppard! I had never heard of a cave being pet friendly but this one advertises as such. That dog was a champ and never hesitated crossing that bridge or any other obstacle in the cave. Note that that the bridge has an open grating base, very open sides angled away from you, and it moves slightly as everybody walks across it. The dog never hesitated.
