Talkeetna Dog Sleds - 3

As stated before, the dogs are treated as royalty for their entire life. The male and female dogs race side by side and there are strong and less-strong dogs in both sexes. When a female goes in heat, they separate her in kennels since they want to control the breeding lineage and they don't need a pregnancy interfering with training or a race. The facility had just received their newest member the night before our tour. You see Josh in his element playing with the puppy. Actually, we all played with the puppy. She was SOOOO cute and happy to get all of the attention. Once a dog retires from racing, they find adoption homes (must have large area) with some of them staying at the facility free to roam the grounds and house/office. You see Lauren giving one of the retirees some loving in the second shot. Finally, I have a link to a couple minutes of video I took while Donnice was mushing the dogs. The video is not great as I had a difficult time pressing the right areas on the phone screen and then it was impossible to hold the phone steady. It may sound like I thought Donnice was trying to kill me but I had already given her a rough ride in the first part. It was a lot of fun.
