Glass Beach Firs

The path to/from Glass Beach is lined with fir trees. It had been raining that morning and the air was still heavy with moisture during our walk. It is impossible to describe the pleasure of hiking in cool weather, seeing fresh green foliage, and feeling moisture after this horrible summer in Texas. We left 105 - 111 °F temperatures and a drought that had turned everything brown and parched at home. The diffuse light of the sun behind clouds highlighted the color difference of the new growth on the trees. The rain drops on the new growth were beauty by itself. These shots were the best I could do with my phone.
