Backup Time a Little
I'm going to back up the timeline a little and share some of the phone pictures from our trip. The flight from Anchorage to Kodiak, Day 1 of our vacation, provided some great views of the mountains and glaciers despite a bit of cloud cover. Donnice was kind enough to let me sit in the window seat for this leg! The flight is just under an hour so you barely get to cruise altitude before you start your decent into Kodiak. These photos were taken shortly after taking off from Anchorage and still over the mainland. In the first photo, it looks like a dormant caldera in the center of the shot. In the second and third photos, you see the incredibly rugged mountains and glacier flows off of their slopes.
Thanks,
Doug White
