A Hawk's Meal
We had seen a pigeon in a corner of our gutters the past few weeks. A hawk evidently saw the pigeon and took a low approach across the back yard with a surprise hit. The mocking birds did not approve and eventually forced him to take his meal elsewhere - leaving quite the feather mess in our yard.
We had just returned from a trip to Ft. Knox, KY to visit Chris and Lauren. We got back home about 30 minutes before our security cameras caught the action. The feather mess will get mowed over tomorrow.
One camera captures the low approach from the back yard and the second captures the plucking and mockingbird disapproval.
Yes, I realize not everyone appreciates such a video. There is no gore (or sound) - just feathers. Hawks have to eat too and in this case, I'm glad it was a pigeon.
