Kodiak 9/20 - Boat 02
We saw a new animal for us in the distance - two harbor seals. They were so far away, we had to zoom in on the camera photo to confirm they were seals. They were just as skittish as the sea otters but you can also see there are rocks just under the water. You keep your boat in the channels!
The solitary sea otters would get a little more at ease with a boat but still not at good photography distances. Shooting long zoom lenses on a rocking boat is a challenge. The photo below is specifically for my friend Spencer since I know how much he "loves" cormorants - the bird in the background.
This otter then stopped for a second to survey what we were doing before continuing this journey away from us.
Thanks,
Doug White
