Kodiak 9/15 - 03

As you saw in the bear photos yesterday, the seagulls are everywhere scavenging anything left behind by the bears (lots). The creeks were alive with salmon when we arrived. You could see splashing and fins everywhere. If the sun angle was right, there were plenty to see in the water also as it is crystal clear. In the second photo at the creek mouth, there was a large flock of birds that would take flight every once in a while. These guys were a long distance away so I wasn't sure what they were until I could see the photo better at home. It was a flock of Emperor Geese with a few gulls mixed in. Something would spook them (no clue), they would fly around, and then land a short distance up the shore. You also get a glimpse of the fall colors coming in on the mountains and grasslands.
